Tour of Bucks County Covered Bridges with Fall Leaves

When:  meet at 12:30 pm, depart at 1:00 pm

(rain date 10/17 -- check your email for updates)

Where:  We will meet in the large parking lot across from Wells Fargo Bank. It starts and ends at Washington Crossing PA.  This is on the Delaware river (eastern edge of PA, western edge of NJ).

There are 12 covered bridges on this tour and it takes approximately 3.5-4 hours to complete the total loop. The total distance is 95-100 miles, so be sure you have a decent charge on your car. Most covered bridges do not have stopping/parking areas, but a couple do have an opportunity for photo ops. Some require parking and a little walking as they are not all "car" bridges.

We will be following the official route as posted on the website here

Please familiarize yourself with this map /set of directions. The tour goes around Bucks county in a big counterclockwise circle and is mainly small curvy roads with great scenery. We highly recommend printing the directions from the website above due to intermittent cell signal in the area. We will have a few printed copies if you forget yours and need one.

    Itinerary (times are approximate):

1:00pm - Start Eastern loop route

3:00 - 3:30 pm - Midway meetup point at Moods Covered Bridge. After taking a few pictures, meet us at the Giant Grocery Store parking lot (a few minutes away from Moods Covered Bridge) to re-group before starting the Western loop route. (1153 N 5th St, Perkasie, PA 18944)

3:30 pm - Start Western loop route

5:30 - 6:00 pm - End at Washington Crossing Historic Park (1112 River Rd, Washington Crossing, PA 18977)

6:00 - 6:30 pm - (Optional) Hungry after all that driving? Join us for dinner after our cruise at Dominick's Original Pizzeria (1250 General Washington Memorial Blvd, Washington Crossing, PA 18977) ( Just a few minutes away from Washington Crossing Historic Park).

WMMR 93.3 Preston and Steve's Camp out for hunger needs our help!

*Update* If you would like to wear a Halloween costume, there will be prizes for the best costume!

Now more than ever the local food banks need help due to the pandemic. We have been invited to join the annual Phil-a-Trunk Food Drive that benefits the Philabundance Food Bank. This event is in conjunction with the Preston and Steve's Camp out for Hunger. Phil-a-Trunk is a literal food drive created by Riesentoter Region of the Porsche Club that welcomes all car clubs in the Delaware Valley.

    Every donation counts!

    • A one-pound donations helps provide one meal for someone in need.
    • Just $1 can help provide up to two meals.
    • With $20, Philabundance can buy a case of peanut butter, a delicious and crucial source of protein for kids.
    • $50 helps give a four-person household three meals a day for one week.

Last year was our second time attending this event and we donated 1232 lbs of non-perishable food  which was more than the 688 lbs we donated in 2019. Let's beat our 2019 and 2020 year totals combined; our goal for 2021 is 2000 lbs.!

In our first year we attended, we even got a shout out on the Preston and Steve morning radio show by the host of the event, "we didn't even hear the DVTO club drive in!"

Here are a few of our "competitor's" donation totals from 2020...

    1. Porsche 128,596
    2. Mopar 9,350
    3. Corvette 6,860
    4. Mini Cooper 4,444
    5. Jeep 3,253
    6. Mustangs 2,814
    7. Blacktop Villains and Neckbreakes 1,507
    8. Audi 1,598

A few details about the event:

10:00 am - Meet at the Ikea parking lot near Chick-fil-a and take a few group pictures.

10:30 am - Drive as a group to the Wells Fargo Center, lot F (tentative), where we will drop off our food donations with the volunteers of Philabundance.

11:15 am - Our scheduled drop off time with Phil-a-Trunk (this time may be slightly earlier or later depending on how large or small the car clubs are ahead of us)

    *Tentative* Phil-a-Trunk drop off schedule:

    10:00 - Gates Open

10:30 - Porsche Club and Mustang Clubs

    10:45 - Black Top Villians

    12:30 - Mini Coopers
